Kind of puts your own "heavy" local break in perspective... The one that Kai didn't make it out of was pretty impressive too... The recovery from the bobble in the takeoff was pretty epic.

There's even more than that. The kid is great on just about anything in the water. Ran into him one morning paddling a four-man canoe in Kahalui Harbor doing the steering duties. Clearly knew what he was doing.  I was in my OC-1, catching the little waves off the boat ramp. lots of fun. He's such a super kid and a good person. The talent is well placed.

That wave at 2:05 made me homesick. Spent a lot of the winter right there.
