Looking for a pad
« on: April 07, 2011, 06:28:17 PM »
I need some new deck pad for my 12-6 starboard. Ideally I'd like to get 3 or 4 different colors and do a mosaic. thought i'd throw it out here and see if anyone has some good sized scraps to sell. Other than that I was wondering if anyone had some sources to buy pad material that wasn't already shaped as a pad and packaged.

Ditto on Hydroturf.  I bought a sheet to do my hollow wood SUP and it's really good stuff.  They sell bags of scraps, you might try to call them and see if they will sell you a bag of mixed colors.

Not sure why I didn't think of them. Had one of their pads on my 12-6... ;D
I'll def see if they can send a bag of scraps and buy a couple sheets of the main colors. Going to try and do something inspired by the Great Wave of Kanagawa

Yeah, hydroturf is awesome, they're just up the road from me so I get delivery pretty quick.  I've used it on tons of stuff, I did the inside of a racing dinghy, used it for stair tread on big boats, have pieces on the nose and tail of my boards as ding prevention.
Even used it on the bumper of the truck where I step up to reach the rack.

That wave idea looks cool, good luck.
