Insane Wood SUP and paddle!

Saw this guy-Mike-out with this 8x30x3-3/4 hollow wood SUP and paddle-all hand built by him.
Cool-dig the rising sun fins-check out that crazy Frito Lay Scoop paddle!

Man I really admire that type of craftsmanship.  Sweet sunburst fins.

Looks like he used pine  on the board, but that paddle is beautiful!  Labor of love.

It'd be weird to use pine and have that much skill.  I bet its white cedar (knotty white cedar though).  White cedar is super light.

Awesome craftmanship, but I agree with the ? of pine.  Still very cool stick.

Although tough to tell for sure from pictures, it does look like pine.  What is usually referred to as white cedar is generally cypress and generally has a tighter grain.  Who knows, maybe it's just a thin veneer over foam. 

In any event, it looks really cool and I bet he has many pinewood derby wins under his belt.

i think it is Pine but im not sure-Mike the guy who built it is a cool guy-bet if you pm'd him he would tell you.
