Most awesome session at Makaha with Chuck, Leco and more

Went out to makaha two days ago and had one of the most epic sessions of my life. It was about 8', with the bowl jacking up to about 15-18' faces. but off to the far left the wave would build steep and hollow, and I sat out there with Chuck and we picked off wave after wave. It was very steep, very fast, and very heavy.

After one whipeout Chuck paddled up to me and said "Corran, I've never been hit as hard as I just got hit!" He pulled into a barrell and it closed out on him and he literally got slammed. The next ride he repeated the move just to check that the first hit wasn't a fluke!!

I had two waves where I was literally racing for my life. As Alex Salazar said afterwards to me "You had three waves where I was watching you and thinking 'don't look back. You won't like what you see' and then you made it."

I did take a few hard falls and I can tell you that Makaha is deep, dark and very very quiet. I'm glad I have double leash plugs!!!!

I also took the first proto of Leco Salazar's "pro" model out (see photo below). Its just a start and the design has a way to go until its exactly what Leco wants, but it already rides really well.

With us out there was Jullien Fillion, Abe Shouse, Mo Freitas and Leco Salazar.

That session will stay in my mind as one of the most epic ever. Glassy. Fast. Great Friends.

Wow what a great shot. Nice to see the old Makaha Condos in the background. How was the backwash?

I really like that shot also.  From the top of the wave looking down, fantastic POV and then that little ray of light on the hills behind.  Perfect and it sounds like the vibe was perfect too.
