Nothing, it's the buddy system, board not required.
One stands or kneels on the back of the other while bodysurfing, kids stuff.

As far as the Maui Chamber of Commerce is concerned, there isn't a worse beach on the entire island that it could have happened at.  Right in front of resort row, yikes, at least they have a great assortment of swimming pools.

He's still fighting for survival.

From yesterday ~
HONOLULU (KHON2) - Sunny Garcia headed to surgery Thursday morning for a Trach/PEG, according to his daughter's Instagram page, @kailakgarcia.
Kaila Garcia has given updates via IG since the World Champion surfer was hospitalized in Oregon last month.
Few details were disclosed as to what put Sunny Garcia in the hospital. However, Kaila stated that he remains "in the ICU and very critical and still on life support."

I had to look up Trach/PEG ~
"Facts About Tracheostomy and PEG. A PEG is an endoscopically guided feeding tube placed through the skin of the abdomen directly into the stomach. The main indication for PEG placement is the inability to swallow properly, which can occur due to medical illness or prolonged oral intubation for mechanical ventilation."

I like to think that it's because of the prolonged ventilation only, and not because of additional problems because he tried to hang himself, but that's still undisclosed.

So I’m clear here. Was he sentenced for the act of SUP or for the assault?

If it was assault, will he be sentenced separately for the SUP?
Two years for assault w/ a deadly weapon, and 3 years for causing great bodily harm, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune, but it doesn't say if they will be served concurrently.
I hope it's not concurrent, no aloha, no freedom!

but them jets are fueled and flying---you got one WW?
I got an e-bike.

i hope you read the above, WW---bc repeating the float all boats myth, is really just about repeating falsehoods

if you differ, pls explain and link
Not only do I not buy that as being a reliable guarantee, I'll double down.
All of these investigations, currently being done by congress, drastically hurts Trump's negotiations with China, they are paying just as much attention to it as we are.  Why would they want to enter a deal with Trump if they feel that he could be history?  We'd probably have a deal with China by now if the continuing witch hunt wasn't happening, which to me is the most distressing thing about it.  It's just another form of the "Resist" movement which is about as unpatriotic as you can get on so many levels.
I don't need links, I don't suck on the mainstream media with their "expert's" tit.

You’d be a bit nervous right now if you were a US SUP retailer who sells boards or paddles made in China...
We'd all be a bit nervous if the dems rolled back the tax cuts, and added more taxes for their socialistic proposals.  That would hurt the US economy quite a bit more, with no end game at all.

Wow, I thought we were in a bad state politically, in the UK. But I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that you guys are totally screwed. You all want change, and you apparently want it badly. But at the same time you are unwilling to consider anything that represents actual change.
From what you've been writing, seems to me that you had already came to that conclusion a couple of years ago.
Also we definitely got political change in 2016, however we probably won't get any change in 2020.
You got change? What changed? You just got a version of the same, but with bells on. If Trump has done anything, it is just to try to undo what Obama did, and take you back, not forward. A vote for Trump is a vote for the status quo. His genius has been in convincing his supporters that he is something other than another money-grabbing corrupt super-rich white guy who couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the average Joe. I mean, why should he?
Alrightythen, it appears that you were no more impressed with the Obama administration than you are with the Trump administration.
Aren't you glad that you don't live here.
This website is probably as close to the U.S. as you are willing to go.

But only if there exists a legitimate legislative purpose.

In this case "Neal predominantly grounds his request in oversight authority of the IRS, assessing whether the agency is fulfilling its duty to enforce the laws fairly against President Trump and whether to revise the laws relating to presidential tax duties."

Clearly, the stated reasons are politically motivated.
Recent testimony, past and current litigation provides ample reason to look. If there is nothing amiss, why fight it? I think congress is well within their rights to investigate overrides for security clearance. When millions of dollars of campaign money are unaccounted for, I think there is an obligation for an investigation. A skeleton in every closet, it seems...
I find it funny that most on the left have no trust in the IRS finding anything wrong with Trump's tax returns.  So I guess they have more trust in congress (who's poll numbers are chronically in the trash can), than they do the IRS.
Also we always hear that congress has the right to do what they are trying to do, which is correct, "a duty for oversight", yep, which also goes back to the same thing, no trust in anybody but themselves, no trust in the Mueller report, no trust in the IRS.  Does the lack of trust mean they HAVE TO go down the same roads that are already well traveled?  This is why people on the right think congress is wasting their time, those things have been or are being taking care of already.  No reason to spend tax payers money on repetitive motions.
Keep feeding the beast, Godzilla is real, the next Godzilla movie will prove it this time!

The liberals have been waiting for it, and now they have it, their favorite former news anchor rocking a leash less paddle, gotta admit, not bad for 48.

got you--you think trump's done well with no korea--i hear you loud and clear

OMG!

i dont measure trump in success or failure--there is no real success, and any comment he makes about anything risks being a self-serving brazen lie much of the time.

name another "win" that youve consumed of the fake news and lies that are continually perpetuated by trump--ask otto's family about trump's success in no korea

OMG that poor kid got sent home in a coma, and Trump's talking lover-boy with Kim--ya look at that accomplishment!
I already know you think Trump's efforts in N. K. are a failure, I guess you felt that it needed repeating, along with trying to take the advantage of an innocent's death.
*Worst POTUS ever!!!!  And that alone proves it!*

A detail you may want to consider, the relationship N. K. had with Obama, Otto was arrested on 1/23/16, just 3 days after Trump was sworn in, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, you know the rest of the sad story.  Don't try to blame the entire story on Trump...…….. okay try to, for a third time, I no longer care.

Yes, I already mentioned them, and I'm a conservative/libertarian to be more precise.

Then EB brings up the Norks, OMG, that hasn't been solved yet!  So I guess he considers Trump a complete failure, because of that, and the other things he didn't feel like taking the time to list, whatever they are.
Seen any missiles being fired by the Norks lately EB?  Any other POTUS talk to little Kim face to face?  I do think Trump should have called an end to the Korean war during their last meeting, that would have been considered a give.  The NK USA relationship is better now than it has been for decades, which really isn't saying much, but it's something.
Trump is not perfect, but he has improved the important things that really matter to the people of this country.  He's an outsider, many don't like that, but that is what got him elected.
Why are some of the dem candidates pushing for reparations all of a sudden, after what 250 years?  They can see they are loosing the blacks due to their unemployment rate going down to historic lows, so they have to offer them something to regain their loyalty, money.
People can and will continue to bash Trump all they want, but what have they got to replace him with?
I think that independent CEO from Starbucks comes the closest, but he's an independent, so he probably has no chance.

BTW, I know Koppel is spelled with a K and one L, I'm human, just like our POTUS, and everyone else here.
