It was pretty far inland last June or so. Have not seen what was probably its initial delivery back again. Definately good stuff. Definately coconut taste.......which suprisingly......only made the good beer.........good.

Dime on the dollar to protect your investment
I couldn't think of not having one but day to day I never seem to use it. Winter storage and long (500+ mile before destination) trips is when my board is bagged up.

I practice catch and release too, but I catch them with a bow and release them in chunks in a crawdad trap.
;D

Thank you.
If I actually thought I could make a dent in these as far as helping the trout I wouldn't release. (my grandfather may be rolling in his grave whenever I let one go.) They are prolific here as are the pelicans. The trout have it tough but they are hanging in there and the pelicans here are far more threatening to them.  I am having so much fun with my fly rod I don't see myself going after them with a bow this season. I am saving that for......who knows, maybe this year. Probably another season. They are considered trash fish most everywhere and although I had heard for years of their fighting abilties I did not discover that firsthand mysef until a couple of years ago.  Holy cow are these fish fun. I am tho, going to try and cook one this summer. The water and feed here is perfect for their culinary atributes I am told.

Fish Tales, Stand Up style / Carp Video

While watching videos and being entertained last winter from some members here, I decided I was going to make a video of carp fishing. I loaded up memory cards all summer.  On the water, a board, a paddle, a fly rod, and who knows what else at times in my hands left me with hours of horrible footage. This is what I have come up with.
These things are such a blast to fish for.

Those are Monkee Business boards.
You can get one shipped to you on the train from Clarksville.
I think it's the last one.
Oh, For Petes Sake, I didn't think about it that way.
Good one.

Well, watching some clips over the last couple days I got a little curious. Anyone have any stories about these boards, know whose they are or anything to go along with this?
This was the best still I could find.

Was it me or did the narration sound a little Warren Miller-esque?
Definately....esqueish.

The Kialoa Pupu is definately a better paddle than the Bic. We have/had both in our house (fixed pupu/adjustable bic). In the price range of the Pupu that is probably the best you will find.
If you are able to get out a couple of times a week, especially year round you really want to look at getting a better paddle. Think about bumping your budget up another $100. There are lots of good paddles out there in that range. Brand new or a used higher end. The differences between what you can get for 150 vs 250 is quite asonishing.
If you are going 100 times a year you may even want to consider bumping that budget up even more.

Will the bag take that much stress on top of the car for a 200 mile drive?   If we go bare, Fins off, up, front, back, down, etc?

Thanks
Depends on the bag. I have gone cross country with a bag. If your bag doesn't fit tight around the board it will flap and be noisy tho. I have got my bags from Midnight Products. Can't recommend him enough for a custom bag.
Aerodynamically definately go without. Protection in general or from the sun, get a good bag. I will go with my NRS straps and then throw on the steel cores for security.

Was it Little Big Man, where Chief Dan George said that line?
Yes, as long as the wind blow, grass grow, and sky is blue.

There are just those ones that come out and hit us like a hammer. Ouch.
Sometimes this getting old thing just makes you sit back and..........think.
Your memories are warm as are the condolences.

We're working on an easy way to let people swap blades if they decide they got the wrong one.
When you  buy ski boots on some sites online you can purchase a return sticker at the time of the intial purchase to send back a pair. You order two pairs right off, hopefully one will fit, the other will not and you send that one back and get refunded upon return. They must be sent back in the same condtion recieved so that is where it would get tricky for you but you already have considered that. You got to actually try the paddles first, not just carry it around the house to see if it is right.
You are considering many things that will keep your head spinning for a while. Hopefully you have it nailed down in the next month or so before the rush.

« on: February 23, 2012, 05:10:05 PM »
Keep in mind this is from someone who agreed to a 3rd child in order to get the green light on my 1st SUP.  I can't keep spawning offspring!
Maybe you can. Don't they pay donors? Sounds as if you may be a prime canidate.
I am sure you wouldn't trade that kid for anything or have it any other way now but that must have been some conversation. Which of you wanted what first....more children or more toys?
A family of 5 and 1 board there's your in on this...now to just donate for funds.

Very cool. Now I can think so much I will confuse the beezuz out of me and end up with two more paddles rather than just one. Is that your plan?
Actually all of that info can be used to pick any paddle, but I know which one I already want......I think. More reading to do.
