I ran across this looking at other stuff. It is pretty cool and with all of the people here interested in photography and making great videos I thought it would be of interest. Almost looks like a little Christmas village or small scale railroad stuff but it isn't. I guess it is called tilt-shift photography and he is doing stuff to it when he edits it. The music is a remix.....your computer isn't doing hiccups.

Inspired by DavidJohn and a bit jealous of the summertime and the 95-115 degree difference in temperatures over there than I saw all last week I took some pictures and am posting this if for nothing else....my amusement. This may be the most remote ski area in the lower 48. Pine Creek. Just south and a tad east of Cokeville, Wyoming. It is a funky little hill with one lift and no crowds ever. I would much rather have my water to play on unfrozen and warm any day.
Started on the other side of the state and followed this truck for a few miles on westbound I-80 on the way there. The temperature just about noon. It got to about 15 that day which was the warmest it had been in a week. Typical of the last few miles before the hill. The lodge. From the top looking into Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho. My nephew who learned to ski last week and my daughter. They met me there while I was on the way home. I can't seem to figure out how to add text between photos.

Other things come to mind as the days are shorter and the trees get naked. We watch playoff baseball and football while waiting for a frozen world to appear and change everything for many of us. While long daydreams of warm days fill our heads often during the long winter we stll get our fix in. Absolutely the best ski movie ever made. More documentry than ski porn. Can absolutely be appreciated by all here no matter how warm your winters may be.

I am just curious what was seen at the OR show a few weeks ago coming down the pike for next season. I realize that some may not want to let to much on to this as they have remaining inventory to clear out and that may make people want to save their pennies waiting for the latest and greatest. I have seen the Badfish board that looks cool but what else has been seen that is innovative or cool in boards and accessories?

We finally finished the Kaholo 14. I built this with my dad starting last Feb. and it has been on the water now for 3 weeks or so. We will do a few other things to it over the winter with paint and a few other things but needed to get it out on the water. I came in at around 40 lbs. and am ok with that. I was more worried about structure and durability from the start. Seems pretty bomber. I also went with the stock fins as i think they look bitchin' and tracking was most important to me and I figured two fins would track better than one. It tracks well, isn't hard to turn, and looks bitchin'. My average speed I think is around .5-.75 mph faster than my other boards and my top speed may have picked up by 2 mph but I need to figure that out a bit closer on both boards. My other board I paddle mostly is huge so really not a fair comparision. That just sounds funny when your talking .5-2 mph or so but it is way faster and so smooth. It is plenty stable and such a nice ride. I am blown away how nice it paddles. It was a great project for us and we may do another for the kids this winter. I had never worked with fiberglass, epoxy, or varnish and we learned lots. Amazing stuff. Celeste, if you see this I noticed you built one with your dad and think I saw you mention and noticed also you don't have your deck pads on. How is that going after a little time? I strongly considered that for at least this summer but just didn't think I could stay on it without them? These are great boards and fun projects and I recommend it to anyone considering it. Even rookies will make a beautiful board. I am sure it will be everything you want and more as this turned out.

While watching videos and being entertained last winter from some members here, I decided I was going to make a video of carp fishing. I loaded up memory cards all summer. On the water, a board, a paddle, a fly rod, and who knows what else at times in my hands left me with hours of horrible footage. This is what I have come up with. These things are such a blast to fish for.

Well, watching some clips over the last couple days I got a little curious. Anyone have any stories about these boards, know whose they are or anything to go along with this? This was the best still I could find.
