These new food warning labels in Mexico are super informative, effective and often surprising. Stop signs front and center on every food product. It is placed right next to branding (not buried on back, small cryptic, hidden and often illegible). Unavoidable at purchase or in the fridge. It is a simple step and an immediate behavior changer. We need this.

This guy is an inspiration. His riding is so far out there but his joy for it is contagious.

We are down in Baja sitting out the rest of the winter. Fortunately, our daughter was able to join us and we have both grandkids here as well for at least a couple of months. We were able to get a really nice home which sits at the bottom of a sweet 5 mile downwind run. It is kind of a south shore Maui setup with cruisey, even bumps. It seems like everyone had the same plan to sit out covid down here. I have never seen so many kiters in one place ever, including here in previous visits. I have been watching jetski foil lessons in the mornings. Man, does that look frustrating. I can hear them screaming at each other in Italian from the porch We have been using our trusty Axis 760/860 and the 390 tails so far while we adjust to the new Ensis wings but I just cut down my 420 tail to 400 so we will see how that goes with the 980 today. My legs are pretty well garbage now so every outing feels seat of my pants crazy. Even so, this sport so unbelievably fun. Following swell with a wing and a foil, a mile off the coast, with your wife, jumping fish...magic.

Hi guys, Here is a nice way to measure some interesting elements of your foils that aren't commonly listed by manufacturers. It uses only a mm ruler, is highly accurate, it can be duplicated and it should provide a nice way of sharing info. The Axis foils have a nice feature where the fuselage is level when resting on the area where the mast inserts. You can check this with a digital level. So, if you rest that area on a level surface (check that as well), you can individually measure the incidence (the angle difference from a single foil to the fuselage) of the stabilizer and of the front wing. To do that you can measure up from your level surface to both the leading edge and the trailing edge of the wing. The difference between those two measurements will be your rise. Height A minus height B = Rise. To get run you can just measure the chord of that wing. Rise over Run = Slope but degrees are nicer and here is an easy calculator: https://www.inchcalculator.com/rise-run-degrees-calculator/Once you have the positive angle for the front wing and the negative angle for the rear wing you can also get the angle difference if desired. Front Angle - Back Angle. As an example my Axis 980 with the 420 tail is .54 front incidence minus - 1.91 rear incidence = 2.45 angle difference. There are a few details that need to be minded such as a level "lifter" for the fuselage but those are easy to accommodate with household items.

Have you guys tried this? It is phenomenal! If you need an indoor aerobic workout just go for 1/2 hour of Beat Ninja. Super fun and it is a great workout. I am always looking for things that push new coordination pathways and this is really good. We bought this for our Grandson's birthday but Chan and I both are using it every day. Really awesome! Fully immersive and amazingly well done. Facebook, yes and privacy, probably not but man, is this cool!

My older brother Scott just did this discussion/interview with Robert Redfield. Interesting to hear what he thinks went right and wrong with handling of the Covid-19 pandemic to date. Also interesting to learn the scope of the CDC itself. Long, but in my biased opinion, worth it. https://mediaserver.uthsc.edu/uthscms/Play/5e0434fd2df54c34962508c94d8720481d

Here are some clips I shot this week (all from inside the house). See what happens when I can't get out to foil. I get all American Beauty - plastic baggy and and start looking at the small things and welling up . If you enjoy music, hit the mute button.

Hi Guys,
We want your participation on the Zone!
If you are having difficulties with registration please try again using an easily identifiable water sports name. You can always change your forum display name after acceptance. Even with strong, current Captcha some of the process is manual and it is very helpful for me to pick real users out of pages of spam entries if you choose obvious names from our focus interests here.
If you are having trouble solving Captcha, you are not alone. It is a pain but it is necessary. I would highly suggest using the audio feature to ease the process.
Thanks! Modify message

Apologies in advance for another geek thread, but wow. What an interesting time for computing. These new M1 chips are so sweet and this is just for the base level consumer units. 5 nanometer process. Science fiction stuff. SOC fully realized. Thanks mobile devices! Onboard integrated memory, integrated graphics at a much higher level, 16 core neural engine on board. Pretty crazy what they have achieved right out. You have to wonder what they have coming for their big boy chips. Really remarkable.
