The title of this thread in itself is a conundrum, a map of a supposed 'secret' spot made public.
Maybe it's meant to be that way.  8)

I still like to check this one, mostly for old time sake, it's been a long time.

I'm on my 5th full size van in a row, going back to 1975, all Fords with one Dodge thrown in there as an experiment, went back to Ford a couple of Fords ago.  My current one, the last year for the 'E' type body.

I like to watch the Grammys and the AMAs to possibly discover new music and talent, it doesn't always happen, but it did this year.  I've been seeing pics to this guy for about a year, "thinking, there's an odd duck, a black, gay, cowboy", knowing nothing about his music, but I do now, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Lil Nas X is very good, very, very good IMO.
Here's a vid of his hit song "Old Town Road" that he did at the Grammys, but it's not from the Grammys it's from the CMAs, which I didn't see, but I like this one the best, there are many versions of his song on YouTube.

Random / Re: Any San Diegans here been to TJ for dental work?
« on: January 24, 2020, 01:04:35 PM »
I've got a good friend here in SLO county who always goes down to TJ for his dental work, but from now on he's only going to go back for basic stuff.  The last time he went down there for a couple of implant foundations, and they both got infected, he said one of them got drilled out too deep and poked out thru the outside of his gum.  He ended up paying a local dentist for the remaining work needed to complete that job, after they got the infection cured.  But like he said, he will go back just for minor routine maintenance, even though that hasn't happened yet.

Musk's electric pickup with shattering windows, it looks like it was designed by an amateur origami student, folded paper.  The most hideous thing I've ever seen on wheels, roll another fatty Elon, you need it.

« on: November 23, 2019, 04:27:34 PM »
When I lived in RI, it was 10 minutes or less, perfect.  Now that I'm in San Diego, it's 20 minutes there and 30 min back ... and I'm unhappy about it, though I know I shouldn't be.  But it did get me to wondering -- how long does it take the folks here to get to their go-to surf spot?
Born and raised in SD, lived there my first 21 years.  During the beginning of my surfing years 1964, we lived in Del Cerro, across from SD State College (or whatever they call it now), we could make it to OB in 25 minutes flat, feet on the sand.  Then I moved to PB by myself, 5 minutes to Law St. surf spot, life was good.  Then I moved up to SLO county, the water has always been only 5 minutes away, Pismo then Cambria, life is even better, never crowded.

Yeah, I have to stay away from Facebook entirely. It just sparks extreme grumpiness and a desire to join some other species.
I noticed, but not that there is anything wrong with that.  ;)

Been going thru my vinyl (+- 500) for the last several months and having a BLAST doing it, after not cranking up my turntable for about 30 years.  Lately it's been Jethro Tull, and after going thru all their albums, I've decided that this is my favorite Tull song, everything about it is perfect, arrangement, tempo changes, added strings, and it's off only their second studio album '69.

Well, sort of back on, no heats with multiple surfers out at a time, which also means no streaming.  At least that's the way I understand it.  So from a spectator's point of view, there will be no view, other than submitted vids over a period of time.  We kind of get those anyway.  :-\
I hope I'm wrong.

That's one of the fastest growing populations in our country, due mostly to the reduction in natural predators.
State bird of Ala., Mass., Okla., and S. Carolina, but can be found in almost all states.
They are everywhere in ever increasing large numbers here in San Luis Obispo county, and after living here since '71 I can easily attest to that.  Now days I wake up to their squawking and gobbling almost every morning, and they think they own the streets, walking right down the middle of them, and they won't move out of the way w/o blasting the horn.  I used to think they were very cool, not so much anymore.
We will never run out of turkeys.

The first time I saw the commercial on TV for "Ship Sticks", which is for golf clubs only, a big light went off in my head.  But is the demand for shipping real sticks as large as it is for golf clubs?  That is the question.

Two excellent ones if you have the guts to go beyond the headlines.
