Never strayed. Yesterdays session from dawn patrol. 1:34 hour, 23 waves, 1.1 mile and 15 mph top speed. I was happy.

My feelings also. They lost the title to my newly acquired xr1200 I purchased in April. Seller in VA, dealer in Oregon and I live in Ca. What a mess. Need to apply for my third temporary. Sea ya

Nice to be back. I just broke some ribs getting hit by point break. I will be out of water for a time. It was my wave going in after an awesome session. Smallest wave did it and the only time I fell entire session. It sucks but stuff happens.
I also one wheel. After day five, I woke up in emergency room getting 10 staples. I was on asphalt with soft hat. I now wear armor and helmet and pretty much do it on harder sand at low tide. It is awesome but your going to kiss the ground so it is best to dress for it. Its way cheaper than hospital bills and more time out. I use bicycle helmet, fox titan upper body armor that includes spine, chest, shoulder and elbow. I also have football player type shorts that includes knee, thigh, hip and tail bone. I might look like warrior when doing it, but I bounce up without injury. Even after having one wheel for years and am on my second one an xr, I would not even consider doing it without armor on. Check out one wheel forum for more information. Not telling you what to do. Just my experience and that of many others.
So now with waiting period of ribs healing, I have to put aside surfing, one wheeling, dirt bike riding, lifting sneezing, deep breaths and farting. My fourth time breaking ribs and it sucks but I know the drill.
Best of luck to you. Try going in reverse which would be switch stance. You get the watch the waves and pretend you are carving both directions while watching waves.

I was going to wait until it maximized at 70. I am almost 68 1/2. I think my life expectancy has just been reduced. I am still enjoying my tax practice, so not thinking of retiring soon. Surfing still a priority and never enough time for it. Its just not consistent enough around here. What to do?

Good time to get some honey do's done. Earn some brown eye points. It will be over soon enough. Just don't tear them until recovered or you get to start all over.

Did the same a few years ago surfing where back foot slipped of back of board going fast. Board squirted forward with foot still on it. Back foot held in place by water. Ouch. Black and blue from below knee to buttock. A month later on a nice day I two days in a row caused the healing to tear again, surfing. Another ouch. Finally got to talk with client doctor. Regular docs had me waiting two months for appointment so no help with advise or pain. Client doc told me to stay off for two months. Then take it easy. Injury happened on October. Retore in November. Had to wait for injury to heal. Did not surf again until April. Still hurt but no more tearing. A few years later-no problem.
Stay off it until it heals. Doc told me if I keep injuring it, It may never get better. I am not a doc or medical professional. Telling you about my experience. I hope you have complete recovery.

I had two high end carbon surf sup delivered with leaks. Both were replaced with new stock even though I did not pay even close to full retail. All it took was working with my local surf shop. Starboard came thru with class. Glad it worked out for you EB.

I just picked up a new volt for 20k after tax credits. May take a little conversion for surf vehicle. I also have a bolt. Its a great car but range is limiting. I prefer the ICE as a backup. Went to Portland last weekend which is something a bolt with 280 mile range would take a while to do. Not interested in waiting for recharge.
The volt covers my local needs with electricity and my travel needs with fuel. I just gotta figure a rack system but the rear door opens and my board should fit. I don't care as I live most the year at the beach.
My experience with electric cars is their value drops faster than your principle reduction of a monthly payment. This makes for a buying opportunity for a great used electric vehicle. I see used volts for 10K. That should pay for its self with fuel savings.
I would love the VW van, I had one for many years. I would not love the hole in the wallet and rapid depreciation.

This year for 8 months, walk across the street, down along the jetty and then paddle to best surf within mile or so. I have been doing this for 4 years. Have reservation for next year already. Office is around mile and half to surf spot. Can see out front door the harbor entrance. Home is three or four miles. Depends on which beach.
I surf so much more by having trailer parked at beach over half of year as compared to surfing from home or office. Some times I get more than one session. Sometimes the wind shifts from south to north and being on beach I am on it, when at home I would have missed chance.
Price to keep trailer on beach is well worth it. How much is extra opportunity to surf worth?

Its called humble pie and there is plenty enough for all in wind sports.
Pono your welcome. I know you will do something worthy with the cyclone.
And yes it was cold Sunday. I took grandson hunting and we drove in on dry roads and out in a blizzard on snow covered roads. Really scary mountain roads over 4500 ft elevation with 1000 ft drop offs on roads barely wide enough for my truck. Going downhill was even scarier.
But yesterday I surfed for 3 hours in nice sunny conditions. I love it here.

I used mine exclusively since received. Often I paddle a mile down the beach to surf. It works in small and large. I have had it out in waves twice the size of waves in the video. Sooo good. Stand over the fins and she really turns nice. I kept mine as quad. Last session was the best since like 04/01. I was a pig dog and surfed over 4 hours. Love this board. Can't wait for over use injury to settle down then back at it.
You just might want to put an order in so more are made. Mine is not for sale.

Got a friend who dances (more freestyle) on his boards. His problem has been dancing on the plugs and then they leak. His deck is totally dented and boards are full of water.
I am selling him a couple of used carbon built boards with no plugs, that I surfed for a few years. No deck dents.
Build quality is so important.

Yeah Pono I think its a cyclone. Bought from Luna. I am going to be in Mt Hood area 3rd week this month. I can deliver or mail. If cards line up, it would be nice to get wet.
I plug in batteries separately. My connector is xt-90. Had to make a charging harness for each. Simple plug and play. Hakko iron works so well.
I will post a picture of bike later.
Sea ya
