Classifieds / SUP race & downwind boards for sale in Rhode Island
« on: August 08, 2023, 09:39:55 AM »
Yes, I know not many are looking for raceboards anymore but cross posting here amongst some other sites for visibility. Downsizing to make some room for some new stuff.

1.) Infinity Downtown, 14 x 25.5" - this is their flat deck downwind board and it's awesome. It's surprisingly nimble in flat water too. Just took 2nd place in a race in Lake Champlain last weekend. Board has only been wet about 4 times. $1800 (retail is $2995)

2.) Infinity Whiplash, 12'6 x 25" - this was handmade in their CA shop about 6 years ago. It's definitely seen some use but still one of their fastest designs ever and an excellent "all around" race board that I've even used on downwind runs or in waist-high surf. Only a side handle but there are screw inserts glassed over in the middle in case you want to add a center handle. Board has some repairs but it's water tight. $900

Located in southern RI but happy to meet somewhere in New England if that's easier. I'm on the Cape about once a month also but can get there whenever. Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: My Shark Story

Bulky, thanks for sharing this, I’m sure it wasn’t easy. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain, anger and sadness you’ve been through in the past 5 years. Your reflections on paddling and getting on the water served as a good reminder as to why I started paddling in the first place. Keep on truckin.

Love this classic shape! Wish there was an easy way to get this to RI. Not sure Dave has made a board as fast since this design.

SUP General / Re: Starboard Pro vs. Infinity Blurr v2, thoughts?
« on: May 01, 2022, 05:58:45 PM »
I can’t speak for the Starboard models discussed here but I have a lot of experience with Infinity boards, specifically the RNB, Blurr V1 and V2 and mode of their other models. The RNB is “fun” but lacks the performance of the V1/V2. The Blurr surfs much differently than the RNB so just keep that in mind. If the shop near you offers demos, I would try that before settling on one or the other. I have two RNBs but rarely pull them out, the B-Line or a Blurr has been my go to for a couple of years now.

I've been resisting the foil temptation and still having a blast SUP surfing. As long as you're having fun!

SUP General / Re: Sunrise Paddle (Paddle for Ray)
« on: February 12, 2020, 08:27:17 PM »
Yesterday we paddled to support cancer patients and show our support, It started at 3:00 am and ended at 11:00 am. The goal was 32 miles, I paddled 12 miles my personal best. The sunrise after about the 5th lap was amazing #paddleforray

Ray Nosse was an incredible human being and I’m honored to have been friends with him. His passing was much too soon but thankfully Anthony Vela and the Performance Paddling community keep his spirit alive, along with many others that have lost a similar battle. I rarely come on here anymore but when I do, it’s nice to see a thread that can make me reflect and smile rather than another foiling thread. Thanks for posting this.

I've seen some break in the surf but as a back up paddle (if you can get it cheap enough) might be a good option

News flash... all paddles can break in the surf. I've had QB, Ke Nalu & Werner all break. It happens.

But there are better backup paddle (100% Carbon) options

This is such a stupid statement with nothing to back it up. Typical reply.

dawn and dusk patrols fear mr graysuit (with white trim)

might be mosquitoes we shd fear......

A friend of mine works for the CDC and told me that it's even worse than they're saying. If I go out at dusk, it's pants and long sleeves without a doubt. Should settle down in a few weeks though.

SUP General / Re: Value of older SUPs
« on: September 08, 2019, 02:38:38 PM »
The value also depends on where you’re located. I’ve bought several boards in SoCal for under $500 that were close to new, prototypes, or very lightly used and not that old. Here in New England now, the market is much less flooded and people ask too much for boards and they don’t sell. If they’re priced right, they’ll go quick. Overall, value and used prices are coming down everywhere. Three months ago I bought a 1 year old carbon 18’6 unlimited for $500.

Just Google it.

Oh, right. Everything you google is definitely true. Congrats for the most idiotic reply I've ever read.

Red meat is not good for humans.

Care to provide your proof or reasoning behind this sentence?

Nice video even though I don't know what Game of Thrones is.   ;D

Is this a joke?
