A toast, to our brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Their selfless sacrifice inspires me to find joy in the difficult days, to paddle out when the surf is raging, to look for the good in every person and to genuinely appreciate the beauty in every day.

Great pics. Another spot to put on the list for the flat spells.

The last time I scraped my foot on the rocks I got an infection. Mother ocean isn't as clean as she once was, so use plenty of anti-bacterial on it.

I believe that cannabis is a superior drug to alcohol, but alcohol has a far superior delivery mechanism.

I believe that cannabis legalization will have a significant impact on alcohol consumption, particularly when today's teenagers become young adults.

Regardless, it is nice to see this nation's disasterous, ineffective and costly war on drugs slowly unravel.

Moral outrage is great for media ratings / profits.

Timely. I was recently surfing chest to shoulder high medium period waves when I took one on the head and popped my leash plug, which sent my board solo surfing towards the beach and me holding a paddle. I've just returned from a month long medical leave and am a bit deconditioned (I thought I'd regained my stamina, but found out otherwise), so I became quickly winded and missing my board's flotation as the white water repeatedly washed over me. I tossed the paddle, rolled onto my back and made it in no worse, but for some wear and lots of heavy panting.

This is the second leash plug that has failed on my 10' Foote, so I should have anticipated this happening. After this episode, I had planned to rig my leash as noted above, believing it to be the strongest rigging scheme. The above post validated my thinking...Thanks for posting

Thanks guys, but we're almost to the point where my analog brain is overheating just like my HP did before it died.

The only hard work that my computer is doing, that I'm aware of, hell it may be hacking the NSA while I'm asleep, is editing my lame GoPro videos. Everything else, except for an occasional Powerpoint, spreadsheet or doc is done online. So shouldn't I just optimize for that?

Thanks for all of the input. I don't think I'm tech savvy enough to go the linux route.

I will though stop by the Apple store, hopefully this afternoon to see what they're offering.

This old Dell won't last long, it's running Windows Vista Home Basic.  :)

Admin,

Not sure if I want to switch to Apple. They make elegant devices for sure, but I fear the change.
