"Borrowed" from Seabreeze~

Jimmy Lewis posted this really cool message on Facebook a couple of days ago-
So, today was super windy and Kevin Davison, Jaecey Suda and I did a downwind run. We're coming up towards Baldwin and Kevin's about 30-40 yards ahead of me, as usual, when out of the corner of my eye on the left I see this yellow thing fly by. My first thought was "WHAT???? How did Jaecey catch me??" (she's got a yellow board) Then I notice that it's a foil board. I look up a little higher and it's Kai Lenny on his 5' something foil shortboard! He's looking back at me with a big smile, holding his GoPro out in front and says "Hey Jimmy!" I yell back "YEAH RIGHT ON KAI!" It was unreal to see what he was doing so close up!! But that's not the half of it! He quickly catches up to Kevin, whom he said "hi" to as well, then began to traverse in towards shore to get near Baldwin Reef. He's been up on the foil the whole time since he first passed me. I keep looking up once in a while to see where he is and he's way inside now and still up on the foil. I watched him until I couldn't see him anymore and I think he was going in at Sugar Cove because his house is near there. Not once did he come down off of the foil. EVER! I'm not sure but I'd be confident to say that he caught a glide up at Maliko and rode the foil, non stop, all the way down to his house. I guess we'll see when he posts his video (I hope he doesn't edit out my part..... ha ha ha!!). Anyway, all I can say is: UNREAL!!!

Very interesting read on the smoking vs. drinking popularity, and why the US alcohol industry is concerned.
US drinks industry ponders effect of cannabis legalization
As legal use spreads some groups fear a competitive threat, others spy an opportunity

This Thanksgiving, Californians may have been tempted to include an additional ingredient in their pumpkin pies. Marijuana was legalized in the US’s most populous state this month, reflecting a mellowing of social attitudes towards the drug.
Alongside the presidential election, five states voted on whether to legalize the recreational use of cannabis, with Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada, voting in favor, along with California.

But one sector is watching the spread of legalization with a degree of trepidation: the $200bn US alcohol industry. Though alcohol and weed might seem eminently compatible to some, a number of brewers fear cannabis as a competitive threat, with some industry groups going as far as contributing funds to anti-legalization campaigns.

Boston Beer Company, the largest craft brewer in the US with brands that include Samuel Adams and Angry Orchard cider, said the widening legalization of marijuana posed a risk to its sales.

“It is possible that legal marijuana usage could adversely impact the demand for the company’s products,” argued its regulatory filing in February. The Massachusetts-based brewer added: “We also believe that impacts the craft beer industry.”

In Massachusetts, the Beer Distributors’ PAC, an industry body, donated $25,000 this year to a campaign group fighting legalization.

For the rest with charts, graphs, and everything~
Speaking just for myself, I don't think the brewers have that that much to worry about, you smoke, you get cotton mouth, you grab a beer.
But the distillers may have reason to, you smoke, you get cotton mouth, you grab a martini or a scotch?  I don't know any of those.
Vintners are probably okay as well, a good bud goes very well with a glass of fine Pinot noir, or almost any good wine.

I've got pics of my parents and their friends partying back in the 50's and early 60's, they were all holding hard liquor doubles, nobody (normal) drinks like that anymore, unless they have a problem.

Don't know if anyone is interested, but this has been streaming live online since it started a few days ago.
Currently in a holding patter due to the lack of wind, but the sets are mast & 1/2 high.  Incredible drone work being utilized, I think they are setting new standards with that.  Vids available when the live ain't happening.

General Discussion / Admin. possible search improvement?
« on: August 23, 2016, 04:55:31 PM »
Is there any way that the search function could be changed so that when you enter a subject, and you get a list of results, then you click on one, but it's not quite right, so you want to go back to the list of results, but it says "the page has expired", so you have to start all over again, eliminated?  It would be great to be able to just click back to that original list, like on most search engines.
Been meaning to bring this up for years, but another bout with that today reminded me.
Thanks WW

'I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale, handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick. I'm so mean I make medicine sick.'
- Ali said this before the historic Rumble in the Jungle match that took place in 1974 in Zaire against George Foreman.

'It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up.'
- Ali

RIP to the greatest!

She looses an arm, she's now a mother, so what does she do?
Gets towed in at Jaws, of course, did you expect anything less?  You can even see her smiling.
