I'm interested in buying the largest board that will fit inside my car (no longer than 9'8) to use for flat water paddling and small summertime waves.  Please let me know if you're aware of anything for sale, or have something to sell.  I'm looking for a local transaction in New England.  Thanks.

I've had this board for 2 years.  It's in very good shape.  Used for micro waves (surprisingly surfy for such large board!) and paddling with my dogs, so there are some superficial scratches on the deck pad from the canines.

Excellent condition. No dings, repairs.  Two very small superficial chips, one superficial scratch. Rail tape installed.

Very versatile board. Great all around SUP for both flat water and waves. Surfs like a high performance longboard: stable, fast, loose, mush slayer that holds its own in head high surf.  Comes with 2+1 RTM fin set up.  Custom Only at Midnight board bag also available.

Located in Boston, MA.  Not really interested in shipping.

Thanks for looking.

Gear Talk / Paddle/Surf/Paddle Board Recommendation
« on: July 15, 2012, 11:43:03 AM »
I have a 14' Bark Expedition that I use for exercise in the inner Boston Harbor.  I've used it a couple of times outside the harbor for paddle/surf/paddle sessions and am not crazy about the way it surfs.  In knee high stuff by the time you get back on the tail to turn, you've lost the wave.  I think this is b/c it's 14' and has a fair amount of rocker (nose and tail).  Even tho I rarely surf the Bark, the way it surfs is beginning to be a real buzz kill.

What I do like about the Bark - it's very stable in the chop and has lots of load carrying capacity - handles knee high chop with me (170 lbs) and the wife (100 lbs) as passenger no problem.  I'd like the next board to be able to do that, but I want something more surfable.

Thanks.

I assume the money grubbing hos among us already saw this article about the rag merchant, but for those of us who didn't, check out the WSJ article on:

Toby Bost is the rare executive who can count surfing in a new pair of board shorts as one of the responsibilities of his job. At the helm of La Jolla Group Inc., Mr. Bost oversees seven apparel brands including O'Neill Clothing USA and Rusty North America.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703509104576327243372360346.html?KEYWORDS=tow+surfing

Look at that beast's humungous arms.  He needs them to hang on to wake boarding and jet ski tow ropes.  He does 300 sit ups at a time!

"If you want to do [action] sports, you have to work out," Mr. Bost advises. "If you don't, you get fatigued or worse, hurt. You've got to be religious and drop everything and just do it."

Or, you could just do an 'action sport' that keeps you in shape, like stand up paddle boarding.
