Downwind and Racing / WPA World Championships

Congrats to Chase Kosterlitz for winning the WPA World Championships yesterday in Cabo.  But what the heck are all the other top paddlers? It seems very strange that there were very few top guys participating.  Anybody know why?

Downwind and Racing / 14' Bark Expedition

Anyone have any experience with the 14' Surftech Bark Expedition as a downwind board.  I will eventually have the opportunity to try one myself.   For now I just wondering how it may compare to boards like the Naish Glide?

Events / Great Lake SUP Classic - Holland Michigan July 17th

Check out www.Hollandoutpost.com for all the details of this 1st Annual event.  Dean karnezes ( Ultra Marathoner) and Candice Appleby ( top Female paddler) will be in attendance.  This is sure to be a great event on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Does anybody have any info on this new ( updated layup of the Cr-1 ), now called the Hobie Elite PCX.  There is a small write up / review in Stand Up Magazine, but Hobie's website has no other information.

Gear Talk / Help me decide Hobie 12'6 or Bark 14" both race boards

I am trying to decide between a Hobie 12'6 Cr-1 and Bark 14' race w/ carbon bottom.  I will generally be padding flat water and want what would or should be the fastest board.  I am 5'11 and weigh about 180 LBS and want to get into racing.  All things equal, what is the fastest board? and by how much?  Thanks in advance for the help.
