Gear Talk / Infinity Whiplash 26 pro box vs 27 single fin
« on: September 15, 2017, 01:51:52 PM »
I wanted to get some input on the 2016 whiplash 26w/ Larry Allison pro box fin set vs the 27 wide board. I have a Lahui Kai 14 x27 now and I'm pretty comfy on it due to the design of the bottom. I'm looking at a 2016 Whiplash 14x26 with the 4 fin setup . Does it add enough stability to compare to a 27 wide whiplash? I mostly paddle flatter conditions but sometimes get wind and cross chop . I did demo a 25 wide whip and found it not as steady but it only the had a single fin so I had my mind set on a 27. Thanks

Gear Talk / Lahui Kai vs Naish Javelin
« on: August 01, 2017, 04:12:03 AM »
just wanted to get an idea of the difference in these 2 boards.
2016 Lahui Kai 14x27 sup atx version and the 2016 Naish Javelin 14x28 gx.
Mainly the performance side of it, Ive paddled both but not at the same time. I feel the LK sometimes feels slower. I had an eradicator which was faster but too jittery in chop so I sold it. Will the javelin be about the same as the LK?

I'm not a racer as of yet.
  Thanks for any advice

Gear Talk / Pipeline / pursuit elite ss 12 6 opinions????
« on: January 03, 2017, 01:26:51 PM »
I saw this board online then checked it out locally. 6 oz carbon innegra w/4oz fiberglass over that. Lift sup handle, tie downs on front single concave bottom, slightly sunken deck,275 ltr, grafics are kinda sketchy, extra layer of fiberglass in standing area. Overall I like the shape and it would be good for me for a performance/ touring board but don't know anything about the build quality. I was hoping someone could give me an opinion. I have an Eradicator 14 but too tippy for a casual paddle and choppy conditions. I'm also considering a Hobie 12 6 elite. Thanks

SUP General / Twisted isup normal??????
« on: February 11, 2016, 03:29:17 PM »
I just bought a 126 x 30 isup from a reputable co and it is twisted . If sitting on a level surface it has a 1 1/2 " difference from one corner to the opposite corner. They sent out another one and it is also twisted about 3/4". Everything in the kit seems pretty nice -paddle, leash, pump etc.  I even got it for about 30% off.
The company said that its normal/ ok to be twisted and industry standard is up to 1". I have had other ones and they were not twisted at all. I wanted to get some opinions or what other people have experienced with this. Is this going to affect the performance ? Thanks
