Foil SUP / Re: Naish foil ..sunk?
« on: September 24, 2018, 11:23:52 PM »
I was out with a guy last year who lost his foil and it sunk. Luckily, they found it the next day when the water settled down a bit. It was a Naish.

SUP General / Re: What does your SUP carrying vehicle look like...?« on: June 26, 2017, 08:21:12 PM »Here is mine... with this Bakflip tonneau cover/rack combination all the paddles and gear can live in the bed, boards on the rack and family in the cab. Took me a while to find this optimal set up. I really love the bakflip idea and this is the first time i have seen it with racks, but the racks are ugly as hell.... i wish they would change them.... 7

I was on one of these and used to surf it down at our local long-wave spot - a novelty wave in Sydney...
Then i discovered SUP and pretty much put the ski in mothballs. Its only recently after doing a hydrothon (swim, ski and run) for shits and giggles that i have started with it again... although my greater understanding of water and DW now because of SUP means i could probably take on some pretty big DW conditions now... could be an interesting winter! 13
SUP General / Re: When did you learn SUP?« on: March 02, 2017, 03:51:15 PM »
Used to paddle an ocean ski and would to see the SUP's at the local long-wave spot.
Went on my honeymoon in 2013 to Rarotonga and the resort had a Naish Sup there for anyone to use so i gave it a go... could stand on it, just, but fell in love. Came home and bought one straight away. Now i'm up to my 6th board. DW and Surf SUP's.... got bit HARD. 14

Yes that U-clamp is the only thing holding it on. I need to change things with this as i am really not happy with the setup. The board itself is unreal and DC did a great job meeting my requirements. But the steering system is causing me a heap of problems. The blue is the swage. Its on both cables (just hidden on the other side)
