Travel, Trips, Destinations / Re: Bali for Month of April

A whole month sounds like a great trip. Have you checked airbnb yet?

Not really, from my understanding the best way to get a place is to find a hotel for a day or two and ask around for rentals.  They are usually much cheaper to find when you are already there than what we see on the sites like airbnb, homeway, vrbo.

I'm also not sure if I should find a place for the month close to some good surf, or try different areas, week here and there etc.

Travel, Trips, Destinations / Bali for Month of April
« on: January 05, 2016, 09:49:46 AM »
My wife and I are going to be staying in Bali for April and wanted to ask around for some suggestions.  We both are experienced surfers and I sup, and hopefully bringing my new sup as well.  We are currently looking around west bukit but are open to suggestions.  We are really relaxed and not into the party or tourist scene at all.  I'm open to any ideas as to where to stay, as this is a new area for me to explore.  Thanks

Gear Talk / New Surf SUP paddle

Hello all.  I have a new board on the way (L41 ST!!!) and wanted to pickup a new paddle.  I wanted to ask what is the suggested blade size & paddle length for a surf specific paddle (i'm 5'10" 175 lbs).  Right now my paddle is about 6" above head height.  I was looking at the Kialoa Insanity carbon/fiber glass blend fixed paddle, but am open to other suggestions in that price range.

Thanks for the help.

We ended up hooking up with a surf camp on miramar point, this is the first time I havent rented and toured on my own.  Leaving that up to them this time, something different but looks like it will be a blast.

Gear Talk / 8'10" mana hollow waves
« on: June 22, 2014, 08:10:13 AM »
Hi I posted this in travel but didn't get any replies so I'll try here.  I'm taking my 8'10" mana on a surf trip to central nicaragua and wanted to know how does this board handle hollow waves, barrels and such. I won't be screwing with dumpy beach break, have my short board for that if I even use it.
Thanks for the help

Hi has anybody SUS'ed these waves?  I believe they are both left points, seem hollow, fast at times.  I'm bringing an 8'10" Mana. Just curious how this board will do, most problems will probably be operator error i'm sure.
Thanks
