SUP General / Spiked water paddleboard commercial.
« on: May 13, 2017, 04:39:34 PM »
Hi Gang,

Have you seen the new commercial for alcohol spiked water with a bunch of paddleboarders?  It bothered me immediately, but my wife thought it was fine.  What do you folks think?

Patrick at Banh Pho treated me like a VIP.  The experience of customizing for me, watching the process evolve and complete was awesome. The finished board was a work of art, and still is 2 Years out.

Help him out and buy a board from him!

The one he built for me is perfect, so I dont need another.

Random / Re: One of my inventions cured Atrial Fibrillation

Hey Weed.

That company was the same but changed emphasis to Afib ablation.  Lincoln Baxter was employee #2 and is still there.  He has worked tremendously hard to make this technique a reality.

Many of the initial employees were windsurfers, and now still sail multihulls.

Hi Gang.

Check this out.

This is the first actual individual that I heard say he was cured out loud.

Had a shitty day in the lab yesterday, but this cheered me up.

I also enjoyed a 4 mile downwinder with Jason from Paddle Barbados from Dover beach to his shop.  I enjoyed it very much and would do it again.

I recommend going on the Mount Gay rum tour.

Friday Night Fish in Oistins is the coolest cultural view of Barbados ever.  Fond memories of that night!

Have Fun!

Driving on the other side of the road is interesting, especially at the many rotaries.

Classifieds / Kenalu Elite Molokai Blade only.
« on: February 09, 2017, 03:00:23 PM »
Hi

I sold my Kenalu setup, and have this blade left.  105 sq in.  I have my Personal best time on this blade.

The Elite Molokai blade offers great catch, tremendous power, and astonishingly low weight. The 3K Twill Carbon and structurally advanced design enable us to make a 105 sq inch blade that weighs only 250 grams (8.6 ounces)

New at $187,   for sale @ $99.  Free shipping in the US.

thanks.

that scatter graph is cool.

The formula it gives has the central value for men as 213- (.65 x Age). That sounds like a better formula.  For me at 58 that works out to 176.  Sounds right for me so I am near the mean.

I am also aware that anxiety will increase my rate.  Sometimes when I paddle alone in mid-winter I am 125 even before I hit the water!

Downwind and Racing / Re: Can you say 'plateau'.......
« on: February 04, 2017, 04:50:41 PM »
I think your race result is awesome.  It's not a plateau, you are near your peak and still doing it..

compared to most of America, you are an athlete.

I just took one the other day.  Did not hear results back yet.  I have a right branch bundle block apparently.

The test was easy except they shaved my chest and it is wicked itchy.  Only took me to 140 BPM, way lower than the 160+ i do for an hour paddling.  They measured my blood pressure on the way up and down.  Mine recovered nicely.

Age 58.

The cardiologist said I can keep paddling hard but may someday need a pacemaker.

Sister in Law sent me this beautiful image from Vero Beach last night.

Any of you the rider?

I wish it was me, but I have a chilly winter paddle on slate for this weekend.
