Plenty of other sources of course but this pulls a bunch of them together http://www.openculture.com/freeonlinecourses

cool
I'm more familiar with edX
your point being?

I have not ever seen so many free online courses. I'll have to take a look at some of them and see if a few of them pique my interest.

There needs to be a point?
Great list but just scratching the surface. I wonder why Kahn is not mentioned or linked. Most of the courses with particular curricula at Stanford, MIT and manu other colleges and universities are available free, online--some issue certificates of completion. Some of the Stanford courses have fees, but most don't. Great way to spend your TV time.

The MIT OCW classes are awesome. I started a few but dropped them when I got busy. I need to pick them back up again:

If you need a point, it's simply that the best education in the world is available for free to anyone who wants to access it, from anywhere. This is unprecedented in human history--but then again, what isn't.

I know. it's awesome.
As is the GNU project.

No point....I just hadn't seen this one before...I was surprised Kahn isn't listed also....maybe because it's monetized with links? I was particularly drawn to the the list of lectures. I'm going to start watching the Buckminster Fuller lectures..What I Know...42 hours.
Aria and I do what she calls "Grampy school"...basically me finding interesting educational stuff online and doing it with her...I found a few new sources here that look good.
