Title: supthecreek's BIG adventure
Post by: supthecreek on April 09, 2014, 02:10:05 AM
I went south
I did stuff
I drove home
I made a movie... mostly while I was driving
so I guess, technically.... it's a documentary of bad driving practice.

there is some surfing...and a little flat-water (best surf is at the end ;))
Here it is

I'm going surfing now......... 2.5 hour more driving:o

Nice video. Those drives up and down the coast are killers. Wore me out just watching the drive.

Creek,
I love your travelogs, and it's kind of you to take us with you on vacation.  It's like I get my own private tour of SUPable sites along a coast I've never been to, and now for obvious reasons, I want to go.

An unexpected benefit of your video is that your board mounted go-pro angle provides one of the best shots of sup footwork that I've seen, and you have pretty feet.  No this is not the start of a bromance  ;) just recognition for solid foot placement in similar surf situations that I find myself in.  I'm using it as an example for my wife to emulate (ok, I'm learning too, I'll admit).  You have a relaxed cross step, that you do when the wave requires adjustment, not just to dance around.  Who'd of thought that all this primal diet and sup activity would have turned you into a SUPper model?  ;D

turned you into a SUPper model?  ;D

Great tunes and cleverly edited video. I liked the initial guitar music and uncredited Indian (raga?) music which seemed super clear. Wish I was in your neighborhood to get some SUP-surf tips, your take-offs seem so relaxed and you got the cross-step down.

Thanks for suffering through my travelogue.... clowning for the camera kept me alert and amused. ;D

kaya... I've seen you glancing at my feet ;)

Caribe... South C... 45 degrees with night freezes....3/2 and no gloves.... if it was sunny and warm.... no suit.
75 and perfect.... the day I left ;D

Slatch... come on out buddy... we'll road trip around New England... I'm serious.... start packing.

S-poser.... I agree... I loved those riffs.... I found them buried in FREE content in the Imovie program itself.... just click on the musical note and you will find lots of free stuff in different "sound effect" folders
The other stuff was just what ever my radio was picking up as I drove.

I liked the transition from Southern farms and wetlands to the concrete jungle of NJ, NY, and CT... I didn't shoot any Cape Cod to finish it off :o

I really enjoyed that. Great job!

Love the casual cross stepping...I'm just now (after all these years) learning how to cross step, and I am having a hard time...you make it look why too easy  ;D

You've found your calling, Creek.  You remind me of Jack...

STC... That was totally enjoyable. Wish you could have made it a little further south (Jax). Our water temps up to 68 now and last few SUP sessions we've been skinning it...   Paddle on,   JD

Aloha supthecreek!  Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here in a while.  life is good in Hawaii! Been mostly prone surfing, but occasionally flat water sup near my work for my morning workout before the winds pick up.

I hope you're doing well!

Ronny
