Starboard - Starshot vs ASAP vs AST

I think these are all different construction methods?  Can anyone give me the cliff notes or put them in order of strength and weight?  I think ASAP would be the heaviest and least durable, but I'm not sure about the others.

Looking at a few boards like the Atlas and Cruiser and just want to be sure I'm really comparing what I'm looking at.

Is it AST >> Starshot >> ASAP

Here is how I understand it...

AST (Stands for Advanced Sandwich Technology) Has wood and unidirectional stringers Regular epoxy sandwich Reasonably light (for Starboard) pretty durable This is used in its newr and more popular shapes. Note NOT ALL AST construction is the same mfg to mfg!

Starshot is Older shapes (kinda last hooray) no wood No stringer

ASAP (Stands for As Durable As Possible) These are tanks (heavy) SUPER durable Eva rails This construction is meant for high use like rentals & Resort use

I am not the world expert on Starboard construction. We sell them and have alot of hands on experience with them

Hey Jim,

Starshot construction is being used on the new Touring line up, so by older shapes, do you mean it's older technology as well? The description for star shot on the website states it has a wood layer. I'm wondering if the Starshot would be the least rigid(most flex) of the construction types used? Starshot is the cheapest and that's about the most I know:)

Have used SB Carbon - AST - and Wood boards but not Starshot and ASAP.  Looks like ASAP use EPS 20 vs 15 plus other variances -
