I'll give it to the script writers over at Lifetime, SUP as a murder weapon is a new one. I stopped flipping channels when I saw the SUPs on the guy's vehicle. Not knowing anything about the movie I just wanted to see how they portrayed the sport. No leash, of course, but then he produced a lifejacket approved for a CAT 3 hurricane (no joke, that's one of his lines) and I thought, "at least they're safety conscious", until he took a complete novice into ocean surf that would make me hesitant to paddle out. Small surprise, she falls off and goes under. Turns out the vest was packed with sand, not flotation material, so the goal was death-by-SUP.  :P  It's good for laughs.

Lifetime is the chick flick channel.  She was sure up on that board and paddling well for somebody drugged and wearing a sand filled vest.  No first time flounder fest for that gal.
