I'm guessing this is the 12'x34" Naish. How was the glide and speed compared to the 12'6" ONE? Was it stiffer with less flex than the ONE?  THANKS

Yes.. it's the 12'x34'' The Glide Air.

It did feel stiffer and less wobbly.. and it still felt very fast to paddle.. and noticably more stable than the One..

Good to see the Glide Air in a DJ video, even if he had to pump it up in the bushes!

We just started stocking the Naish Air Series, see more http://greenwatersports.com/shop/brand/naish

How do the Naish inflatables compare to the Reds?

How do the Naish inflatables compare to the Reds?

I've paddled both and I would have to say the Reds are the slightly better inflatable.. They've been doing them a lot longer.. With the batterns down the sides and the higher pressures the Reds are stiffer and noticably faster.. (but IMO not by a huge amount)..

So if its high performance you want the Reds are definatly worth concidering..  ;D .. btw.. I didn't buy this board for its high performance.. I'm not sure how the prices compare.. I'm very happy with the quallity and finish of the Naish board, bag, and pump.. and I think it looks great..  :)

How much PSI? Couldn't read the gauge. Looks like a nice board. I'm a Naish fan now since I recently picked up a Javelin 14 LE. I was hoping to see you bump some of the buoys or some other paddlers with the blow up  ;D

The Naish boards pump to 14PSI while the Red boards can pump to 25PSI. In general and as a package, I'd say the Reds are better but it also comes down to you and the application. 150-180lbs person on a 12' Glide on a glassy flat lake is going to be as good as a similar sized Red board in those conditions.

Pricing for the Naish is similar to the Reds.

DJ, you mention that you didn't buy it for performance which begs the question, why did you buy an inflatable to add to your quiver of boards?

Just going to take a shot in the dark....here goes....Because it's INFLATABLE and stores in a BAG?

(I know, sounds crazy.)   ;D

I'd agree w/ DJ, Red/Uli probably tops in terms of performance.  I own 2 Reds, but also an RRD, which is not quite as stiff, but perfectly fine and very fun.  My experience w/ the RRD leads me to believe that most of the big brands are turning out a nice iSUP product by now.

My first board was a RedPaddle Ride 10-6 and that board went with me everywhere. iSUPs are just the perfect travel boards..

What I am looking forward to seeing is DJ's new iSUP in one of his downwind vids. I've just made a vid of the RedPaddle 14' Elite Race iSUP in a downwind and will post on the "Will it downwind? Yes or No" thread within the next 12 hours. You be the judge..

I'm looking forward to see if the Naish iSUP will downwind?

One thing to remember is the Naish 12' is 34" wide. The Red 14 Elite is 26"  and I believe others with battens available are 30" and less. I'd like to see a on the water comparison of the Naish 12x34 and the Red Explorer 12'6x32. I think these 2 are a closer match and made for fun paddles and family travels.
I know the Reds have 2 outer coverings which aid stiffness. Is the Naish 1 or 2 coverings??

I bought an inflatable board for a number of reasons..

Mates of mine are really getting into white water river stuff and I want to join in on the fun.. They say you need at least 33" wide.. and defiantly an inflatable for the durability.. They are also planing some SUP water polo events..  I'm planing a big down river paddle.. Down the Snowy River to the ocean at Marlo from Orbost.. I need to carry gear.. and also be nice and stable..  I want ant to be able to paddle with a large dog on board (my friends Pointer who's about 45 kgs) on flat water days around St Kilda marina..  I want a board that I can teach friends on no matter how big and heavy they are.. and not have to worry about them hitting the rails with the paddle.. or falling onto the board and doing damage..  Also.. I'm planing a trip to NZ one day down the track and plan to take it with me on the plane...

So.. Lots of reasons.. I'm sure I can think of more..  At least I won't need to put Rail Saver Pro on this board..   :)

Whitewater is growing!

ISUPS are the number one river board for various reasons and you do want something wider for stability when you have currents coming at you from many different directions.

I would guess that here in Colorado/Utah area is the most progressive with whitewater boards from local companies Hala, Badfish, Glide, and from companies testing their whitewater boards like the Astro Stream, Jackson SUPcharger and S-fighter. Check out some of these boards if you more interested in river boarding.
