New ke nalu paddle-electrical tape? Rail tape?
« on: November 22, 2014, 01:49:25 PM »
Should I put electrical tape around the joint and handle or is it unnecessary or worse yet will it make the paddle heavier and less aerodynamic entering the water without incremental strength? I assume rail tape is a positive on the blade?

Thanks

Also cut it 75 inches and I am 73 inches for surfing is the received wisdom that is a short length or increasingly the norm?

Don't put anything on the blade. You can do a wrap of brightly colored tape on the joints. it's not necessary, but it helps you find the paddle in the water, so why not. Rail tape on your rails, nothing on the blade.
