New Starboad carry handle - quick advice please

Hi - looking for some quick advice. Are the new Starboard carry handles similar to those used by Naish eg you can properly grab back up into the handle and are these only avialable on the 2014 models?

The new handles are way better, they do have a ledge and they are soft and foamy!
